Become a Resident Therapist

MCS strives to be a leader in providing affordable and specialized outpatient counseling, while training the next generation of psychotherapists.

Metropolitan Counseling Services is a 501(c)(3) low-cost psychotherapy and training center.  While meeting the need for quality, affordable, and often long-term counseling and psychotherapy for adults, MCS also provides one of the few settings in the Atlanta area that addresses the specific needs of post-graduate therapists working toward licensure. We offer a three-year period of intensive, supervised clinical experience and additional training that goes far beyond satisfying licensure requirements in Georgia. Our clinical staff are all highly experienced and respected members of the therapy community and are experts in their respective specialty areas. The supervised, hands-on experience that residents gain at MCS not only satisfies their licensure requirement and preparation for private practice, it enables the services that MCS provides.

Inservice trainings in 2017 are conducted by the highly trained MCS clinical team, as well as other presenters including Kathy Steele, MN, CS; Jared Defife, Ph.D.; Linda Ellis, and others.

We do not accept practicum students nor interns at this time, that is anyone who has not completed their graduate degree.
