Shannon Georgecink, executive director of Metropolitan Counseling Services, has used her passion for non-profit service and volunteerism to fuel a career centered around helping those in need. Committed to the belief that successful communities thrive when its residents are supported through care of the whole person, Shannon’s work in the greater Atlanta community has spanned many issue areas including public education policy and at-risk women and children. Currently, Shannon serves on the Board of Trustees for the Fulton DeKalb Hospital Authority and is president-elect of the National Charity League, Milton Chapter.
Prior to joining the team at Metropolitan Counseling Services, Shannon served as the Advancement Communications Director at Marist School and the Director of Communication at The Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education. A member of the Junior League of Atlanta Board of Directors from 2011 to 2013, Shannon also served on the Soaring Hawks Foundation Board of Directors. She is a past member of the Board of Directors for Rainbows, Inc., Georgia Chapter.
