Lenae Abbott

    Lenae Abbott believes that J.K. Rowling stated it perfectly in her novel, Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban, “Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” Lenae hopes to walk and talk with you on your journey to happiness by helping you find your light in life and what it means to you. She is a caring mental health provider with an empathetic feeling who strongly believes that everyone has their own individual journey in life. Lenae strives to meet clients where they are in their journey.

    Her approach to therapy applies both cognitive behavioral and humanistic techniques to assist clients in overcoming obstacles and find the growth that is needed for their journey to happiness. She also uses a trauma-informed perspective in therapy and provides a safe place for clients to express their thoughts and feelings in order to be their true selves.

    Lenae earned her Master’s in Clinical/Counseling Psychology from Clayton State University. Her clinical experience comprises of counseling children, teens and adults from different cultural backgrounds who have experienced multiple types of primary or secondary trauma, including abuse and neglect. She also has multiple certifications in trauma and trauma-informed care, and extensive experience with anxiety, depression and stress. In her spare time, Lenae enjoys painting, swimming, music and reading a good book with a good cup of coffee.
